ACiQ Floor Mounted Air Handlers are an excellent HVAC solution for sun porches, attic conversions, and any room where space for traditional wall-mounted units is limited. Also known as heat console air handlers, these compact units are designed to mount low on the wall, near or directly on the floor, making them ideal for areas with low ceilings, knee walls, or minimal vertical wall space.

Their design is slightly wider, taller, and shallower than standard wall-mounted units, allowing them to fit under windows or within tight architectural features. Models like the ACiQ-18FM-HH-MB and ACiQ-24FM-HH-MB are engineered specifically to solve complex installation challenges in unconventional environments.

Key Installation Advantages:

• Level Mounting on Angled Surfaces: Threaded rod mounting allows the unit to be perfectly level, even on angled or uneven walls commonly found in attic remodels. The adjustable rod supports installation close to the ceiling or suspended several feet below it.
• Minimal Clearance Required: Unlike ceiling cassettes or concealed duct units that require at least 12 inches of ceiling space, ACiQ floor-mounted models can operate with just a 1-inch gap between ceiling and roof—perfect for metal buildings or three-season rooms.
• Efficient Sunroom Integration: Mounts directly to the wall beneath windowsills, approximately 2 inches above the floor. No floor penetration is required—refrigerant lines, drain hoses, and electrical connections pass cleanly through the wall. Ideal for sunrooms with large windows and minimal wall space.
• Smart Heating and Cooling: Draws air from the bottom and delivers it upward for effective winter heating. When used with an optional door-open sensor, the system can automatically shut off during the summer when windows or patio doors are open.
• Optional Floor Mounting: Ideal for brick, stone, or marble surfaces where wall drilling is not feasible. All lines can run through the floor and be completely concealed. Comes pre-wired for a 240V condensate pump with overflow shutoff connections.
